The Commander of KFOR, Enrico Barduani, visited Mitrovica on Wednesday.
Accompanied by a high-ranking military delegation, he spent around an hour at the main Iber Bridge, where he was briefed on the general security situation in the city.
He walked to the northern part of the square and then along “Isa Boletini” and “Mehë Uka” squares in the southern part of the city, while being accompanied by a significant number of KFOR personnel.
Barduani did not comment on his visit to Mitrovica.
It is unclear whether the visit of the KFOR commander is related to any potential announcements regarding the reopening of the bridge ahead of the upcoming elections in Kosovo.
