The Manoeuver Battalion of KFOR’s Regional Command-East has carried out a multinational exercise focused on crowd and riot control, aimed at strengthening coordination and operational readiness among allied forces in Kosovo.
According to a statement by KFOR, the Polish contingent demonstrated its capabilities in obstacle clearance, operating under pressure, supporting Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) procedures, and providing first aid to the injured. Meanwhile, U.S. teams assisted in EOD activities, and Latvian troops provided drone surveillance and aerial support, showcasing maximum coordination and interoperability among KFOR’s multinational units.
KFOR emphasized that such exercises enhance cohesion, interoperability, and mutual trust — key elements for maintaining readiness and effectiveness in complex security environments.
The mission reaffirmed its commitment to fulfilling its mandate under United Nations Security Council Resolution 1244 (1999), ensuring a safe and secure environment for all communities in Kosovo and freedom of movement at all times, conducted impartially and professionally.
“KFOR continues to work in close coordination with the Kosovo Police and the European Union Rule of Law Mission (EULEX) within their respective security roles,” the statement concluded.
