NATO forces in Kosovo – KFOR – carried out a specialized training exercise on Tuesday focused on crowd control, riot management, and fire hazard response at Camp NovoSellë.

According to KFOR’s statement, the training involved the use of open flames and incendiary devices to create high-stress conditions, helping personnel develop rapid and effective responses.

“Training with open flames and intense heat from incendiary devices strengthens operational readiness and resilience. Such high-stress simulations encourage effective reactions under pressure, improving both physical and mental preparedness to face mission challenges,” the statement read.

KFOR continues to carry out its mandate – based on United Nations Security Council Resolution 1244 of 1999 – to contribute to a safe and secure environment for all people and communities living in Kosovo, as well as to ensure freedom of movement, at all times and impartially.

KFOR closely cooperates with the Kosovo Police and the European Union Rule of Law Mission (EULEX) to maintain a stable and secure environment in the region.
