Pristina, July 9, 2025 — The Deputy Commander of NATO’s Kosovo Force (KFOR), Brigadier General Cahit Irican, hosted Brigadier General Ferdinand Murín, Chief of Staff for Operations of the Slovak Armed Forces, at KFOR headquarters in Camp Film City, Pristina, Rks News reports.
During their meeting, General Irican provided an in-depth overview of the current security environment in Kosovo and the broader Western Balkans region, emphasizing KFOR’s critical role in maintaining stability and promoting a constructive political dialogue.
He also expressed gratitude for Slovakia’s ongoing contribution to KFOR, recognizing the efforts of Slovak troops in ensuring a safe and secure environment for all communities in Kosovo.
The visit comes amid ongoing regional tensions and efforts by NATO to ensure peace and prevent escalation through a continued international presence.
KFOR, which operates under a United Nations mandate, currently consists of troops from over 20 contributing countries, working to uphold freedom of movement and security throughout Kosovo.
