The KFOR mission, led by NATO, EULEX and the Kosovo Police, will conduct a joint exercise in the “Vrella” camp, called “Golden Saber 2024”.
This exercise will start tomorrow, it was announced in the press release.
“This exercise will test our ability to apply common crisis management procedures in various security scenarios. It will include a significant number of personnel, vehicles and assets operating in the exercise area, as well as in the suburbs and on the neighboring main roads”, announced KFOR.
“Golden Saber 2024” is a reflection of our long cooperation and commitment to support long-term security in Kosovo, for the benefit of all communities.
The commander of KFOR, Ozkan Ulutas, said that this exercise symbolizes the commitment to peace and stability in Kosovo.
“This joint exercise symbolizes our strong commitment to peace and stability in Kosovo. By joining forces and capabilities, we demonstrate our readiness to address challenges and our commitment to safeguarding regional stability. We look forward to the successful completion of this exercise and continued cooperation between all involved”, said Ulutasi.
KFOR adds that it is continuing to implement its UN mandate, based on UN Security Council Resolution 1244 of 1999 – to ensure a safe environment for all citizens living in Kosovo, as and freedom of movement.
“KFOR is the third responder in security, after the Kosovo Police and the European Union Law Mission (EULEX), which act as the first and second responders,” the announcement states.
