Soldiers from the KFOR mission, specifically those belonging to the Regional Command West and Liaison Monitoring Teams (LMTs), conducted an evacuation training exercise in the municipality of Rahovec.

“An Italian platoon from the RC-W Kinetic Battalion, operating as a Quick Reaction Force (QRF), simulated a crisis scenario to evacuate an Austrian LMT team,” KFOR announced.

Such training aims to strengthen interoperability and increase readiness to effectively manage emergency situations in the area.

KFOR continues to fulfill its mandate – based on UN Security Council Resolution 1244 of 1999 – to contribute to a safe and secure environment for all people and communities living in Kosovo and ensure freedom of movement, at all times and impartially.

KFOR works in close coordination with the Kosovo Police and the European Union Rule of Law Mission in Kosovo (EULEX) in their respective roles as security responders.
