In a solemn ceremony held in Prishtina, members of the Italian Carabinieri serving with KFOR’s Multinational Specialized Unit were awarded medals in recognition of their dedicated service.
The ceremony was presided over by Colonel Alberto Santini, Commander of the Multinational Specialized Unit. In his remarks, Colonel Santini expressed deep appreciation for the contribution of the decorated personnel:
“Your work has been essential in supporting KFOR’s mission to ensure a safe and secure environment for all communities living in Kosovo,” he said.
According to a statement released by KFOR, the Italian Carabinieri were recognized for their significant role in promoting stability, peace, and interethnic harmony in Kosovo.
This commendation comes as KFOR continues to carry out its mandate under UN Security Council Resolution 1244 (1999), which authorizes its presence to support peace and security across the territory.
