KFOR: Italian Carabinieri Maintain Permanent Presence on the Iber Bridge in Mitrovica

The NATO mission in Kosovo, KFOR, has announced that Italian Carabinieri continue to support communities in Mitrovica through a permanent presence on the Iber Bridge.

According to KFOR’s statement, the Italian Carabinieri from the KFOR Multinational Specialized Unit, part of the NATO-led mission, remain actively engaged in Mitrovica municipality, supporting local communities through regular presence and daily patrols.

With a fixed presence on the main Iber Bridge historically a sensitive point of division in the city and with patrols in surrounding areas, the Carabinieri aim to contribute to maintaining security and stability in northern Kosovo. These actions are part of KFOR’s daily mission to ensure a safe and secure environment for all communities, regardless of ethnic or political affiliation.

KFOR representatives emphasized that their presence aims to strengthen trust between communities and help maintain stability in a politically and ethnically sensitive area.
