Soldiers from the Western Regional Command of the KFOR mission carried out a joint evacuation exercise, focusing on scenarios such as crowd management, ensuring freedom of movement, and securing sensitive facilities. These activities aim to strengthen the troops’ preparedness and rapid response capabilities in emergency situations.

Led by NATO, the soldiers of the Western Regional Command of KFOR completed a joint evacuation drill today, operating in scenarios involving crowd control, ensuring free movement, and securing sensitive targets. The exercise was designed to maintain a high level of readiness in coordination with their allies.

Particularly, during the drill, Italian assets from the Kinetic Battalion of the Western Regional Command were deployed in the municipality of Deçan, simulating an intervention scenario by the Rapid Reaction Force (QRF) to evacuate an Italian Liaison and Monitoring Team (LMT).

KFOR continues to implement its mandate, based on UN Security Council Resolution 1244 of 1999, to contribute to a safe and secure environment for all people and communities in Kosovo, as well as to guarantee freedom of movement at all times and in an impartial manner. KFOR works in close coordination with the Kosovo Police and the European Union Rule of Law Mission in Kosovo (EULEX) in their respective roles as security response institutions.
