KFOR troops from the Regional Command East and West, in cooperation with the Kosovo Security Force (KSF), the Kosovo Police, and international partners, carried out a quarterly inspection of toxic industrial materials at the former “GC Metals” factory in Lipjan.
According to KFOR, the inspection is aimed at monitoring abandoned industrial sites and assisting local authorities in reducing chemical and radiological risks.
“These activities underline KFOR’s unwavering commitment to maintaining a safe and secure environment for all communities in the region,” the mission stated in a Facebook announcement.
At the same time, KFOR emphasized that it continues to implement its mandate under UN Security Council Resolution 1244 (1999), contributing to security and freedom of movement for all citizens in an impartial manner. The mission works in close coordination with the Kosovo Police and EULEX, with each institution operating within its respective security role.
