NATO’s mission in Kosovo (KFOR) has stated that its force posture is reviewed and adjusted periodically in line with developments on the ground, ensuring the mission remains fit to fulfill its mandate. According to KFOR, there are currently no significant changes under consideration.

KFOR responded to inquiries regarding social media posts by individuals in Serbia who allegedly called on Iran to target the U.S. military base in Kosovo, alongside attacks on American bases in the Middle East.

“KFOR’s force posture is regularly reviewed and adjusted as circumstances evolve, so that the mission remains appropriate to its purpose. Currently, there are no significant changes under consideration,” KFOR said in its response.

Posts Referencing Camp Bondsteel

Some posts on the platform X reportedly shared the coordinates of Camp Bondsteel, accompanied by messages such as: “Here is another American base! Thanks in advance.”

Kosovo’s Ministry of Defense stated that it has not received any official information regarding such calls.

U.S. and NATO Presence in Kosovo

The United States Armed Forces continue to play a key role within the NATO-led mission, with approximately 600 troops deployed in Kosovo. Italy currently contributes the largest contingent, with more than 900 troops.

Although there has been no official position regarding any direct or indirect implication of Kosovo in the recent military escalations in the Middle East, Kosovo’s Security Council convened on Saturday evening. According to a government statement, recent developments in the Middle East were discussed, and institutions reaffirmed their close alignment with strategic allies — particularly the United States.
