A Croatian Air Force pilot, J.I. (54), and his partner, A.M. (46), have been arrested on the island of Vis on serious espionage suspicions. They are in pre-trial detention to avoid obstructing the ongoing investigation led by the Split State Prosecutor’s Office.

The pilot is accused of disclosing classified information from the KFOR mission in Kosovo, which he allegedly sent to his partner. A.M. is suspected of collecting and transmitting confidential data via encrypted applications.

Investigations have revealed suspicious communications regarding the December 25, 2022 incident in Zubin Potok, as well as A.M.’s contacts with Vladimir Radivojević (“Mami”), who is charged with the terrorist attack in Banjskë in 2023. According to Croatian media, A.M. admitted during her defense that she had worked for the German intelligence service BND.

The couple’s relationship began in Kosovo in 2016, when the pilot was part of the KFOR contingent and A.M. worked as an interpreter for EULEX. The case has raised serious concerns about the security of international missions in the region.
