KFOR Commander Meets UNMIK Head to Discuss Security and Kosovo-Serbia Dialogue

KFOR Commander, Major General Enrico Barduani, hosted UNMIK Head Caroline Ziadeh today at KFOR’s headquarters in Pristina, Film City. The meeting focused on various important issues, including the continued stability and security of Kosovo, the regional stability situation, and KFOR’s efforts in supporting the EU-facilitated dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia.

In the meeting, General Barduani emphasized KFOR’s ongoing commitment to providing a secure environment for all Kosovo citizens, regardless of ethnicity, gender, religion, or political affiliation. The discussion highlighted KFOR’s crucial role in maintaining peace and supporting Kosovo’s security infrastructure.

This visit is part of the regular exchanges between KFOR commanders and key counterparts in Kosovo. The NATO mission reiterated its commitment to fulfilling its mandate, as outlined in UN Security Council Resolution 1244 of 1999, which aims to contribute to a safe environment for all people and communities living in Kosovo, ensuring freedom of movement impartially and at all times.

KFOR also stated its close cooperation with the Kosovo Police and EULEX, working together to maintain security in the region.
