KFOR has reacted to last night’s attack on the Ibër-Lepenc canal, strongly condemning it and emphasizing the importance of verifying the facts and holding those responsible accountable and bringing them to justice.
“NATO’s mission, KFOR, strongly condemns the attack on the Zubin Potok water pipeline, which had a severe impact on water and electricity supply in northern Kosovo. It is crucial to verify the facts and hold the perpetrators accountable and bring them to justice,” KFOR stated.
KFOR confirmed it has provided security at the site and surrounding areas and assisted in the logistical disposal of explosive devices and support for Kosovo institutions.
“KFOR personnel have provided security at the water pipeline and surrounding areas since last night. Additionally, KFOR has offered logistical disposal of explosive devices and engineering support for institutions in Kosovo,” the statement read.

KFOR Provides Security Support After the Attack on the Water Pipeline in Zubin Potok
The NATO-led KFOR mission strongly condemns the attack on the Zubin Potok water pipeline, which severely impacted the water and electricity supply in northern Kosovo.
It is essential to verify the facts and hold those responsible accountable and bring them to justice.
KFOR personnel have provided security at the water pipeline and the surrounding areas since last night. Furthermore, KFOR has offered logistical disposal of explosive devices and engineering support for institutions in Kosovo.
Meanwhile, KFOR continues to carry out its mandate – based on UN Security Council Resolution 1244 of 1999 – to contribute to a safe and secure environment for all people and communities living in Kosovo and ensure freedom of movement at all times and impartially.
KFOR works in close coordination with the Kosovo Police and EULEX (the European Union Rule of Law Mission in Kosovo), in their respective roles as security responders.
