The Kosovo Police, in cooperation with the Kosovo Intelligence Agency (AKI), carried out an operation today targeting abuse of office and corruption.
Several officials were arrested during the operation, including J.M., the head of the Gračanica Court, and F.I., former Minister of Trade and Industry.
“In this case, multiple senior public officials and responsible persons are involved, including: the head of the Gračanica Court branch, J.M.; attorneys N.K., M.D., and B.D.; court expert Sh.T.; an official from the Expropriation Department; an official from the Kosovo Tax Administration, G.L.; and former Minister of Trade and Industry, F.I. The aforementioned individuals are suspected of acting as an organized criminal group, abusing their official positions and causing significant damage to the budget of the Republic of Kosovo. This group allegedly, through corruption and abuse of office, initiated and submitted cases to the Gračanica Court with the aim of unlawfully obtaining compensation for expropriations carried out during 2011–2015, thereby illegally benefiting from public funds.”
