Following investigative actions by police authorities, four individuals have been arrested in connection with a kidnapping reported on September 19, 2025, in the Veternik neighborhood of Prishtina. Among the suspects is reportedly a serving police officer.
The Kosovo Police Inspectorate (IPK), in cooperation with the General Investigations Unit in Prishtina, ensured the suspects’ apprehension.
During the investigation, authorities seized a firearm and a replica AK-47 toy gun. By decision of the Prishtina Basic Prosecutor’s Office, all four suspects were detained for 48 hours. As part of administrative procedures, the IPK recommended suspension of the involved police officer.
Investigators from the Kosovo Police and IPK, in full coordination with the Prosecutor’s Office, continue their efforts to fully clarify the case.
With these arrests, the total number of individuals detained in connection with this incident has reached eight.
