An internal Israeli military investigation today acknowledged “unprofessional conduct,” “disobedience,” and a “misunderstanding” in the attack that killed 15 Palestinian doctors in the Gaza Strip in March.
The military announced the imminent dismissal of an officer and expressed “regret” for the collateral victims.
“It was a mistake, but we do not believe it is a mistake that has been repeated,” said General Yoav Har-Even, who led the investigation, during a press conference.
On March 23, just days after the resumption of the offensive in the Gaza Strip, Israeli forces opened fire on Civil Defense and Red Crescent teams in Rafah, in the southern Palestinian territory.
