King Charles III has called on communities to unite and find strength to ensure that “right triumphs over wrong” in a world he described as increasingly divided.

In his traditional Christmas message, the King emphasized the importance of social cohesion, connecting with neighbors, and upholding core values that have held society together during times of major challenges.

The speech, recorded at Westminster Abbey, coincided with the 80th anniversary of Victory in Europe Day and Victory Day, evoking the spirit of unity from wartime.

King Charles praised the courage and sacrifice of the World War II generation, stressing that these values have shaped the United Kingdom and must never be forgotten.

Speaking in the medieval Lady Chapel, he also acknowledged the spontaneous bravery of people responding in emergencies, citing incidents such as the attack at Bondi Beach in Australia.

The message was accompanied by a festive performance from a Ukrainian choir, many of whose members have been displaced to the UK due to the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.
