Gazmend Syla, Vice Chairman of the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) War Veterans Organization (OVL-KLA), has confirmed that the individual recently arrested in Serbia does not appear on any official lists of KLA veterans. Furthermore, he is not recognized by any former soldiers in the area where he allegedly operated during the war.

Denial of KLA Affiliation

Syla directly refuted the initial reports, emphasizing that the person in question was not part of the recognized structures of the KLA. “He does not appear on any of the lists, nor is he recognized by any former soldier in the area where he is claimed to have been during the war,” Syla told RTK.

Arrest Reported by Serbian Media

Serbian media reported yesterday on the arrest of an alleged former KLA soldier in Serbia. According to these reports, the individual, identified as L.H., a 59-year-old from Peja, was arrested on Tuesday in the Serbian city of Svilajnac. He has been detained for 48 hours by the Serbian War Crimes Prosecutor’s Office on suspicion of “crimes against humanity and war crimes” allegedly committed during the war in Kosovo.
