The Basic Court in Prishtina held a preliminary hearing on Wednesday in the case against Faton Klinaku and Nuredin Selmani, who stand accused of threatening acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti. Kurti himself attended the session in the capacity of the injured party.
During the hearing, both Klinaku and Selmani pleaded not guilty.
Klinaku denied the charges, insisting that his statements did not constitute a criminal offense.
“I consider that there is no criminal act here, and it cannot be regarded as any kind of threat. I do not plead guilty,” he told the court.
Selmani also entered a not guilty plea.
“No, I do not accept [the charges],” he declared.
The case stems from alleged threats made against Kurti on social media on August 30, 2023, for which the defendants were later indicted by the Basic Prosecution in Prishtina.
