Glauk Konjufca, speaking at the United Nations Security Council, called on Serbia to accept reality and recognize Kosovo as an independent and sovereign state.
He stressed that Kosovo remains ready to normalize relations, but identified Serbia as the main obstacle to peace and progress.
“Kosovo remains ready to normalize interstate and neighborly relations. However, the obstacle to peace and normalization remains Serbia, which is neither interested in normalizing relations with Kosovo nor in joining the EU,” Konjufca said.
He urged Belgrade to acknowledge Kosovo’s statehood and stop, as he described it, holding the region hostage to hegemonic ambitions.
Konjufca also accused Serbia of continuing a “destructive role,” alleging interference in Kosovo’s elections and support for Serb List. He emphasized that Kosovo’s institutions have resisted such interference and preserved their democratic integrity.
