Konjufca Welcomes South Asian Delegation, Stresses Importance of Kosovo’s Recognition

The Speaker of the Assembly of Kosovo, Glauk Konjufca, today welcomed a delegation from South Asia, which includes professors, researchers, institute members, and journalists from countries such as Nepal, Bangladesh, India, and the Maldives.

According to the Assembly’s press release, Konjufca emphasized the need for progressive and value-driven cooperation between Europe and Asia. He discussed various topics with the guests, focusing on the importance of strengthening ties between Kosovo and South Asian countries in areas such as trade and parliamentary collaboration. Additionally, he highlighted the urgent need for recognition of the Republic of Kosovo by countries in the region that have yet to acknowledge its independence.

“The speaker and the visitors discussed the need to increase cooperation between Kosovo and South Asian nations in commerce and parliamentary practices, as well as the importance of recognition for Kosovo and the role of the media,” the press release noted.

The guests, who are in Pristina for the “Prishtina Dialogue” conference, expressed their gratitude to Speaker Konjufca for the warm welcome and for the insightful discussion, which allowed them to gain a deeper understanding of the perspectives and context of both Kosovo and the broader region.
