European Commissioner for Enlargement, Marta Kos, has praised the rapid progress Albania is making on its path toward membership in the European Union.

Speaking about the momentum, Kos emphasized that negotiations are advancing faster than ever before, citing 2027 as a possible target year for concluding the accession process between Albania and the EU.

“EU accession talks with Albania are progressing faster than ever. I reiterated that this pace reflects Albania’s strong commitment and sustained support. The inclusion of the entire society will be essential in achieving the goal of concluding negotiations by 2027,” she stated.

Kos’s remarks underline growing optimism in Brussels about Albania’s reforms and alignment with EU standards—marking a potentially historic milestone in the region’s European integration process.
