Acting Kosovo Prime Minister and Vetëvendosje (VV) leader Albin Kurti expressed gratitude to citizens for participating in yesterday’s runoff elections, describing the high turnout as a sign of democratic maturity and civic engagement.
In a social media post, Kurti emphasized that citizens’ votes contribute to the development of public policy at the municipal level and called on them to hold mayors accountable for promises made during campaigns and for the overall state of their cities and villages.
“Dear citizens of Kosovo, thank you for participating in yesterday’s runoff. You have shown commitment and maturity, contributing to democracy in Kosovo and guiding public policies in your municipalities. Hold each mayor accountable for their promises and the condition of your towns and villages,” Kurti wrote.
Addressing VV activists, Kurti highlighted the party’s electoral success, noting that Vetëvendosje will now govern in seven municipalities, more than ever before, and asserted that even the unity of all political opponents could not halt the movement’s growth.
“Dear VV activists, we will now govern in seven municipalities—more than ever before. Our movement was unstoppable, even by the union of all our opponents. Many challenges and tasks lie ahead, which means many successes and victories await us,” he added.
Kurti’s message underscores the party’s focus on local governance, civic responsibility, and political accountability, signaling continued engagement in Kosovo’s municipal affairs.
