Acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti refused to comment when asked whether he would respect the Constitutional Court’s ruling on the election of the Speaker of the Assembly.

When questioned by journalists, Kurti gave no direct answer, stating he was on his way to a meeting.

“I have to go to the next meeting,” Kurti responded briefly.

Meanwhile, Vetëvendosje (LVV) strongly criticized the Constitutional Court’s latest decision, labeling it a dangerous deviation from its constitutional role and a blatant interference in the competencies of the Assembly.

According to LVV’s statement, the Court has overstepped its mandate by “inventing new legal norms” and “usurping functions that exclusively belong to the Assembly of Kosovo.”

The party emphasized that the Constitutional Court “does not have the right to create new rules that are not outlined either in the Constitution or the Assembly’s Rules of Procedure.” LVV called the arbitrary creation of a limit allowing the Speaker candidate to be proposed only three times a “dangerous example of interpretation beyond constitutional jurisdiction.”
