The Paris Grand Slam 2026 will take place on February 7–8 in Paris, France, and is one of the most important events on the international judo calendar.
A total of 499 athletes from 80 countries and 6 continents will compete, with Kosovo aiming once again for a spot on the podium. This traditional competition attracts thousands of spectators every year, both in the arena and through global television broadcasts.
Kosovo will be represented by six elite judokas, showcasing its strength on the international stage:
- Erza Muminoviq (-48 kg)
- Distria Krasniqi (-52 kg)
- Fatjona Kasapi (-52 kg)
- Flaka Loxha (-57 kg)
- Laura Fazliu (-63 kg)
- Akil Gjakova (-73 kg)
Attention will focus especially on Distria Krasniqi and Laura Fazliu, proven stars on the world stage, as well as the new generation ready to make their mark at this Grand Slam event. The Paris Grand Slam offers important points for world rankings and Olympic qualifications, making every match decisive.
The Kosovo team will be led by Head Coach Driton Kuka, the architect of Kosovo judo’s historic successes, alongside coach Majlinda Kelmendi. Their combination of experience, discipline, and winning mentality remains Kosovo’s main asset on this elite stage.
The Paris Grand Slam 2026 is not only a major test for Kosovo’s judokas but also a real opportunity for medals and further recognition of Kosovo in the global sports arena.
