The Kosovo Pavilion officially opened today, May 13, 2026, within the Marché du Film (Film Industry Market) at the world-renowned Cannes Film Festival.

The Ministry of Culture and Tourism (MKT) announced that the pavilion serves as a strategic hub for promoting Kosovar cinematography at one of the most prestigious events in the global film calendar. For the 15th consecutive year, the Cinematographic Center of Kosovo and the National Center of Cinematography of Albania are sharing a joint pavilion, showcasing a united front for Albanian-language cinema.

A Historic Premiere: Blerta Basholli’s “Dua”

This year’s presence is highlighted by a major cinematic milestone. The film “Dua”, directed by the acclaimed Blerta Basholli (known for her award-winning film Hive), is set for its world premiere.

The 79th Edition of the Cannes Film Festival kicked off on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, and is scheduled to run through May 23. The joint pavilion will host meetings between filmmakers, producers, and international distributors throughout the festival to foster co-productions and expand the reach of Albanian films.
