The Office of the Prime Minister of Kosovo announced that Albin Kurti met with Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković on the margins of the Munich Security Conference, where the two leaders discussed regional security, defense cooperation, and bilateral relations.

According to the official statement, Plenković congratulated Kurti on forming the new government. The discussions also focused on strengthening cooperation between Kosovo and Croatia, particularly in security matters and joint efforts to combat organized crime.

Officials confirmed that both sides explored the possibility of organizing a joint session between the two governments, signaling an intention to deepen strategic cooperation between Kosovo and Croatia.

The statement emphasized that the two countries share common democratic and Euro-Atlantic values, highlighting Croatia’s continued support for Kosovo’s aspirations to join NATO and the European Union.

Earlier, Plenković also confirmed the meeting in a public statement, noting that discussions included the status and rights of the Croatian community living in Kosovo, an issue that remains important for bilateral relations.

While the talks reflect growing political alignment between the two governments, analysts note that closer institutional cooperation could further strengthen regional partnerships, particularly at a time of evolving security challenges in Southeast Europe. However, such initiatives may also draw increased scrutiny from regional actors, underscoring the importance of transparency and diplomatic coordination.
