The Commander of the Kosovo Security Force (KSF), Lieutenant General Bashkim Jashari, and the German Minister of Defense, General Carsten Breuer, have signed an agreement in the field of defense and security.
According to a statement from the KSF, the signed agreement ensures Germany’s support for Kosovo in providing political, military, and legal assistance to the KSF in support of its participation in international organizations.
“The agreement also details areas of cooperation between the two armed forces, focusing on training, exercises, participation in international organizations, technical and logistical support, as well as many other areas of mutual interest,” the statement said.
The agreement was signed on Tuesday during Jashari’s official visit to Germany. The statement from the KSF mentions that during the meeting with Breuer, discussions were held on global and regional security challenges, and both generals emphasized the importance of increasing military cooperation between the armed forces of the two countries.
“The relations of the KSF with its strategic allies are extremely important for its strengthening and development, and in line with this, Germany will continue to play a key role in enhancing defense capabilities,” the statement concluded.
