The Government of Kosovo has approved its 19th sanctions package targeting the Russian Federation and Belarus in response to the ongoing situation in Ukraine.
Prime Minister Albin Kurti noted that Kosovo had previously enacted 18 sanctions packages, with the most recent adopted in September 2025. He emphasized that the new measures are aligned with policies of the European Union and the United States.
Foreign Minister Glauk Konjufca stated that Kosovo seeks to promote peace, democracy, and human rights, and that the government’s decision strengthens cooperation with the EU and the US.
“The package targets energy, finance, the military-industrial complex, trade, and military supply chains, as well as strategic services including technology and artificial intelligence. It also includes measures related to the movement of Russian diplomats and accountability for the abduction and deportation of Ukrainian children. Measures apply to Belarus as well,” Konjufca explained.
