The Kosovo Assembly has failed to constitute itself for the 32nd time, Reporteri.net reports. Apart from Vetëvendosje (VV), other political parties did not propose members for the Commission for Secret Voting, leading to another unproductive session.

A total of 75 deputies were present in the hall. When a vote was held, only 45 deputies voted in favor, with 1 against and no abstentions.

The next session is scheduled for June 17.

Vetëvendosje continues to insist on Albulena Haxhiu’s candidacy for Speaker and on the secret voting method. The Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) and the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK) have requested a new name from VV, while the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) has declared that it will not vote for any candidate proposed by VV.

President Vjosa Osmani has held two consultative meetings with political leaders to discuss the constitution so far and is expected to appeal to the Constitutional Court to seek a legal solution for the ongoing blockade.
