The Kosovo Assembly has approved the Law on Budget Allocations for 2026, opening the way for the implementation of a 13th salary, despite the opposition voting against the measure.

The draft law passed in its second reading with 62 votes in favor and 36 against, marking a key step in the government’s fiscal agenda for the coming year.

According to the approved legislation, the total value of Kosovo’s 2026 budget is approximately €4 billion, making it one of the largest budgets adopted in recent years.

The approval of the budget is expected to enable the government to move forward with planned policies and financial measures, including the introduction of the 13th salary, which has been presented as part of broader economic and social support initiatives.
