The bomb threat that led to the evacuation of the Kosovo Assembly today is suspected to have originated from a phone number in Serbia, according to the Kosovo Police.
The 42nd attempt to constitute the Assembly was postponed this morning after the threat. The building was evacuated, and after several hours of searches, it was determined to be a false alarm.
Following initial investigations, police stated that suspicions point to the threat coming from a Serbian number. “Regarding the case of the explosive device threat that occurred today in the morning hours at the state building of the Republic of Kosovo, the Kosovo Police, in cooperation and coordination with security institutions, has continued intensive investigations with the aim of clarifying and uncovering the threat. Based on current investigations, it is suspected that the threats came via a phone number that is believed to be from Serbia,” the police notification stated.
The police affirmed they will continue their investigations and take measures, including communicating with international security partners, to locate the devices and communication networks used in this threat.
