Civil society representatives who wish to attend the inaugural session of the Assembly of Kosovo must submit a formal request at least three working days in advance, according to Musli Krasniqi from the Assembly’s Directorate for Media and Public Relations.
This clarification comes following accusations from Eugen Cakolli of the Kosovo Democratic Institute (KDI), who claimed that the presiding official of the session, Avni Dehari, overstepped his authority by not allowing him to monitor the session.
Assembly’s Rules Emphasize Transparency
Krasniqi responded by referencing the Assembly’s internal regulations:
“The inaugural session of the Assembly, upon the invitation of the presiding officer, can be attended by representatives of the diplomatic corps, state institutions, special guests (such as members of emblematic families), and accredited media,” said Krasniqi in a statement to KOHA.
“Civil society representatives may also attend from the plenary hall gallery, provided they submit a request at least three working days in advance,” he added.
This rule is outlined in the Regulation on Order and Access of Media and the Public to the Work of the Assembly, which aims to ensure transparency while maintaining order during key parliamentary procedures.
