The 30th attempt to constitute the Assembly of Kosovo has failed, prolonging the country’s political deadlock. Today’s session collapsed after the commission tasked with organizing the secret ballot for the election of the Speaker once again failed to secure enough votes.

The failure was primarily due to the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK), Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK), and the Serb List refusing to propose their deputies for the formation of the electoral commission. Only 52 deputies voted in favor of forming the commission today.

The session chairman, Avni Dehari, announced that the session will resume in 48 hours.
