The Kosovo Assembly has failed to elect a Deputy Speaker from the Serbian community. None of the candidates received the required majority, leaving the position vacant.
Despite this setback, Assembly Speaker Dimal Basha emphasized that work must continue and officially closed the constitutive session.
“I consider that the failure to elect should not be an obstacle that blocks the constitution. After the session concludes, the Assembly must continue its work as provided in the Constitution,” Basha said.
The Assembly’s ongoing operations will proceed according to constitutional procedures, even as the position of Serbian Deputy Speaker remains unfilled.
