The Constitutive Session of the Kosovo Assembly failed to elect a Speaker after the vote resulted in 52 deputies in favor and 1 against, out of a total of 106 members present in the chamber.

Due to the lack of majority support, the session was postponed to Wednesday, May 21 at 11:00 AM to continue the efforts of forming the Assembly leadership.

This deadlock marks the continuation of Kosovo’s ongoing political crisis, with key parties yet to reach an agreement on the leadership of the Assembly.
