Pristina, Kosovo – June 15, 2025 – Albulena Haxhiu, a Vetëvendosje (VV) MP and the party’s candidate for Speaker of the Assembly, stated before the start of the constitutive session that everything “depends on the opposition parties,” Reporteri.net writes.
Haxhiu has failed to secure the necessary 61 votes from the Members of the Assembly of Kosovo for 31 consecutive attempts.
VV continues to insist on her candidacy, while the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) and the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK) have declared that if the leading party changes the name, they might vote for the Speaker. On the other hand, the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) will not vote for any candidate from VV.
