The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora of Kosovo has organized the repatriation of several citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina who had been stranded in Riyadh, enabling their return through a flight to Prishtina.
According to the ministry, the humanitarian and logistical operation was carried out at the request of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as part of regional diplomatic cooperation aimed at assisting citizens in emergency situations.
The repatriation took place on flight XY1237 from Riyadh to Prishtina, during which Kosovar authorities facilitated the safe return of a group of Bosnian citizens who had been unable to leave Saudi Arabia.
Diplomatic Coordination
Officials stated that a key role in coordinating the operation was played by the Embassy of Kosovo in Zagreb, which worked closely with relevant institutions and diplomatic missions to ensure the safe and organized return of the travelers.
“The Embassy of the Republic of Kosovo in Zagreb played an active role in coordinating between the relevant institutions and diplomatic representations to enable the safe and organized return of the passengers,” the ministry said in a statement.
The ministry emphasized that the operation demonstrates the importance of regional solidarity and effective diplomatic communication, particularly in situations requiring rapid and coordinated action to protect and assist citizens abroad.
Kosovo’s Foreign Ministry added that the repatriation serves as an example of regional cooperation and diplomatic coordination in resolving humanitarian and consular matters.
