The Director of the Traffic Division of the Kosovo Police, Jeton Rexhepi, has called on all drivers to exercise maximum caution on the roads due to snow and freezing temperatures following heavy rainfall.

“In many parts of the country, weather conditions today are challenging and require extra focus and consideration from drivers. Exercise maximum caution. Remember, you are not alone on the roads,” Rexhepi wrote on Facebook.

The Hydrometeorological Institute of Kosovo reports that after recent record rainfall across nearly the entire country, precipitation has stabilized. However, a cold air mass will affect Kosovo, causing significant temperature drops:

  • Morning lows: down to -12°C
  • Daytime highs: up to 7°C
  • Wind: mainly northwest and southeast, light to moderate
  • Conditions: frosty mornings, possible fog in some areas

For Monday, weather is expected to be mostly cloudy with occasional sunny intervals:

  • Minimum temperatures: -11 to -8°C
  • Maximum temperatures: -5 to -1°C

Authorities advise all road users to drive carefully, especially during the early morning hours when ice may form.
