The Kosovo Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) has called an emergency press conference today, to be held in front of the Kosovo Government building in Skënderbeu Square, starting at 12:00 PM. The reason for the conference has not yet been disclosed.

Context: Looming Power Cut for Businesses

This unscheduled press conference comes just a day after the Energy Regulatory Office (ERO) issued a warning to businesses currently supplied with electricity by KEK as a Last Resort Supplier. ERO stated that these businesses risk being left without power after July 30 if they do not sign long-term contracts with licensed suppliers.

ERO has urged all affected consumers to immediately contact a licensed supplier and sign commercial agreements for electricity supply. The KCCI has previously pushed for the annulment of ERO’s decision to transition businesses to the open energy market multiple times.
