The Kosovo Chamber of Trade and Industry (KCTI) has responded to recent statements from the Energy Regulatory Office (ERO), which cited a supposed decision by the Basic Court of Pristina regarding KCTI’s lawsuit.

The KCTI asserts that it has not received any court decision on this matter to date.

“ERO’s claim that this process cannot be stopped is contrary to the very principles of the rule of law and the right to judicial protection,” the KCTI stated in its reaction. “Every decision must be made transparently and with full respect for the rights of the parties involved.”

The Chamber declared that it is awaiting the Basic Court of Pristina’s decision before issuing an official stance.

“The KCTI firmly stands behind its statements that the liberalization process has been accompanied by a series of procedural and substantive violations, which have also been noted by European institutions,” the reaction continued. “We will continue to pursue all legal avenues to protect the interests of businesses and to ensure that reform processes in the country are developed in accordance with the law, public interest, and European standards.”
