Kosovo is ending 2025 with a significant achievement, being recognized as a state by the 121st country, the Bahamas. Following the recognition, the two countries also signed an agreement to establish diplomatic relations.
This marks a positive signal for the country, which, despite facing challenging periods, is making progress in international relations.
Acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti described the recognition by the Bahamas as an important step in strengthening new friendships and cooperation opportunities. He emphasized that 2025 has been a key year for new recognitions after a long period.
The Bahamas’ recognition is the fourth for Kosovo this year. Following recognitions from Kenya and Sudan in March and April, and most recently Syria, 2025 has marked a noticeable advancement for Kosovo on the international stage.
