The Institute for War Crimes Committed During the Kosovo War organized its first scientific conference, gathering scholars and authorities from both local and international communities, as reported by Ekonomia Online.
Kosovo’s Prime Minister, Albin Kurti, emphasized the country’s unwavering commitment to uncovering the truth and ensuring justice for the victims of war crimes. He stressed that crimes cannot remain silent or be forgotten.
“Crimes cannot remain silent, nor can they be covered by forgetfulness. That is why we continue to speak, write, and testify until every crime is documented and punished, until every victim has justice,” said Kurti.
The head of the Institute, Atdhe Hetemi, referred to the conference as a testimony to the value of the local archive as an essential resource for both Albanian and international researchers.
“This process guarantees the scientific quality and objectivity of the articles that will be part of the edited volume, which aims to be published by one of the world’s most prestigious publishing houses, such as Cambridge University Press, Routledge, or Palgrave,” Hetemi noted.
The rector of the University of Prishtina, Arben Hajrullahu, emphasized the importance of inter-institutional cooperation to contribute to opening new horizons for research and documenting history.
