The Kosovo Competition Authority (AKK) has declined to participate in a meeting called by LDK MP Hykmete Bajrami regarding the decision to transition businesses to the open electricity market.

AKK stated its refusal is based on its constitutional and legal mandate, emphasizing the need to maintain institutional independence and impartiality.

The decision cites Article 21, paragraph 1 of the Law on Competition Protection, which requires the authority to act strictly within its legal competencies.

AKK emphasized it will not engage in political debates or ad-hoc initiatives that fall outside official state structures.

Given that the Kosovo Assembly is currently not constituted, the authority said it is not institutionally positioned to interact with parliamentary groups or political entities outside formal frameworks.
