The Kosovo Customs authorities have carried out an operation in Pristina, intercepting a vehicle distributing pharmaceutical products without official labeling to various pharmacies. Upon inspection, the vehicle was found to be transporting a significant quantity of smuggled medicines lacking legal documentation and of questionable origin.
The suspect has been brought in for questioning, while the seized medicines have been confiscated as material evidence. Under the authorization of the competent prosecutor, further inspections are currently being conducted at the pharmacies suspected of receiving these illegal products.

Kosovo Customs – Anti-Smuggling Units Launch Operation Against Distribution of Smuggled Medicines in Pristina
Pristina, August 5, 2025 – Today, in the city of Pristina, the Anti-Smuggling Units of Kosovo Customs identified a suspicious vehicle distributing pharmaceutical products without proper labeling to various pharmacies.
During the stop and inspection of the vehicle, a considerable quantity of smuggled medicines was discovered. These products lacked the legal documentation required and did not bear the official banderoles of the Republic of Kosovo, raising serious concerns about their origin and safety for public use.
The suspect was taken in for questioning by the Customs’ investigative officers, and all medicines were confiscated as material evidence.
With the authorization of the competent prosecutor, additional inspections are currently underway in the pharmacies where these medicines are believed to have been distributed.
