Kosovo Customs Seizes Smuggled Goods from Serbia

Kosovo Customs authorities, in cooperation with the Kosovo Police, have carried out an operation against smuggled goods from Serbia in the village of Dumnicë, Podujevë. During the operation, 575,000 cigarette filters illegally brought into Kosovo were confiscated.

The incident dates back to December 11, 2025, and on December 15, authorities stopped a vehicle suspected of carrying smuggled goods. During further inspections at a garage and in another vehicle, additional hidden goods were discovered and seized by customs.

“Village of Dumnicë, Podujevë / 11.12.2025 – 19:25. Regarding the case, on 15.12.2025 a vehicle loaded with goods was stopped, while additional hidden goods were found in a garage and another vehicle. The customs unit has seized 575,000 cigarette filters,” stated the 24-hour report by the Kosovo Police.

Following the prosecutor’s decision, two male Kosovo citizens were interviewed and subsequently released. The case continues through regular legal proceedings.
