Kosovo Defeats Slovakia, Advances to World Cup Play-Off Final

The Kosovo national football team defeated Slovakia national football team 4–3 on Thursday night in Bratislava, in the semi-final of the 2026 World Cup play-offs.

The “Dardanians” secured a crucial victory, booking their place in the grand final against Turkey national football team, which will be played on Tuesday night in Prishtina.

Kosovo delivered an outstanding performance, dominating much of the match and scoring four goals.

Despite Kosovo’s early initiative, the hosts took the lead first through Martin Valjent (6’). Kosovo responded through Veldin Hoxha (21’), equalizing to 1–1.

However, Slovakia went into halftime ahead 2–1 after a goal by Lukáš Haraslín (45’).

In the second half, Kosovo came back stronger and overturned the result. Fisnik Asllani (47’) leveled the score at 2–2, before Florent Muslija scored a stunning goal to make it 3–2.

Kreshnik Hajrizi (72’) extended the lead to 4–2, while David Strelec (90’) scored a late goal to close the match at 4–3.

In the end, Kosovo secured a massive victory in Bratislava and is now just 90 minutes away from the 2026 World Cup.
