Over 38,000 Diaspora Voting Packages Verified by KQZ in Nine Days

The Central Election Commission (KQZ) of Kosovo has announced that the process of verifying ballots submitted via postal voting from abroad is ongoing.

According to KQZ spokesperson Valmir Elezi, from February 9 to February 18, a total of 38,229 packages have been evaluated. Of these, 35,832 were approved, while 2,397 were rejected for various reasons, including submission by individuals whose registration had been annulled, missing registration confirmations, or duplicate submissions.

In total, KQZ received approximately 69,000 postal voting packages, and the final number of ballots that will proceed to counting will be determined once the verification process is complete.

Diaspora Participation in Elections

The number of Kosovar citizens registered to vote from abroad was 104,924, with 20,324 registered to vote at diplomatic missions, of whom 15,352 actually voted. Meanwhile, 84,600 were registered for postal voting.

As per standard procedure, all postal ballots undergo verification to ensure they belong to registered voters and comply with election rules. The counting process will take place at the Counting and Results Center.
