The Kosovo Diplomatic Union congratulated the country on Independence Day, emphasizing the role of diplomats in promoting Kosovo internationally.
The union highlighted that diplomats are the first to articulate Kosovo’s positions and messages.
“They are also among the first to face complex situations that require deep judgment, institutional maturity, and responsible action in defense of state interests. Representing the Republic, our diplomats experience every development affecting its future with sensitivity. Yet, as they study the history, context, and current affairs of the countries where they serve, they remain steadfast in the mission to elevate the history, sacrifice, and achievements of the Republic of Kosovo.
Today, missions and embassies of Kosovo around the world convey the festive atmosphere to our compatriots, turning February 17 into a day of unity and pride.
In meetings and formal receptions, our diplomats refresh and strengthen ties with the international diplomatic network, enhancing Kosovo’s bilateral and multilateral relations as an equal member of the family of nations. Today, our diplomats demonstrate to the world that Kosovo has always had skilled, knowledgeable, brave, and energetic people ready to face any challenge with dignity.
Diplomats also testify that Kosovo’s citizens rank among the most tolerant and pro-Western peoples.
On this day, the diplomatic service reflects the vision of the citizens of Kosovo, embodied in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution; in the sacrifices of generations; in the blood of martyrs; in the perseverance of those who have faced and continue to face processes in The Hague; in the vision of historic President Ibrahim Rugova; and in the legacy of the legendary Commander Adem Jashari. With the KLA – always. In these challenging years, we remain steadfast in defending the truth, dignity, and legitimacy of our struggle and state-building, with NATO and EU membership as our rightful goal.
Happy February 17 – in service of the Republic, with honor, integrity, and responsibility.”
